Look What I Found_Jazz Grant
I've been searching through the collections at V&A East Storehouse to find inspiration for my new mural ‘To Travel This Ship’, which will be unveiled at Hackney Central Library in 2026.
I started by reflecting on my personal heritage and found the oldest Jamaican object in the collection, a lacebark mat. I then expanded my research to include the work of Trinidadian carnival designer Peter Minshall. My collage combines the foliage from the lacebark mat with the chaos and energy of Minshall’s costume design.
